I think that people fall into a reliance on racial stereotypes which don’t represent the majority of citizens in either country. What people are fooled by is the fact that we both speak English. And, contrary to poular belief, there is hardly ANY difference between British and American English. Brits and Americans are more likely to understand each other than people in different parts or, say, Germany can understand each other. – So language doesn’t divide us. What DOES divide us is our core beliefs. Britain – technically less democratic because of monarchy – I believe is more democratic. America uses FORCE and the DEATH PENALTY to maintain law and order.
