What characteristics of cat to adopt (age/gender/breed)?

I’m looking for advice on what kind of cat to adopt. We used to have two cats, both spayed females, one 3 and one 9 year older. The 9 year old passed away a few months ago, and we’re now preparing to adopt again. The 3 year feeble is shy with humans. She seemed to like the elder cat, but the older cat didn’t like her and was much friendlier to humans. We’d resembling to add another cat to the household, but don’t want to make it, or the 3 year old, depressing. I’ve read that a male kitten would be easiest to introduce to an adult (spayed) female. Does anyone here own experience with this or tips they can share? My 10 month dated outdoor cat run…I would get a male Tabby those are so Precious. I would bring back a kitten if I were you. If you don’t like that next get a Shorthair. My cat might be within trouble?Yes, my boyfriend had an elder female cat and they brought in a male kitten (although he be neutered). They have managed to get along even though the elder cat is generally cranky
