What characteristics make an excellent Account Manager?
This was selected as Best Answer I think a good account manager is someone who is extremely flexible – who has the potential to be all things to all people. What is considered “good” to one client may not be to another, so it’s important to be adaptable, to change your tone and style to deal best with the client at hand. It’s also important that an account manager should never be a “fish out of water” – that they are someone who can be comfortable in a range of situations, from a casual business meeting over lunch, to a formal board room presentation to company executives. Finally, I believe a sense of personal style is somewhat important – in many cases, the account manager will represent the face of your company to that client. It is therefore important that they know how to best present themselves to afford the best impressions of themselves and the company. In all cases, knowledge is the key.
