What characterises the posts of DSH?
Firstly, he generally posts meta-topical messages, messages about the group itself (and its subscribers) rather than the group’s actual topic. Secondly, a misguided attempt to seem learned, expect a bit of Latin. Thirdly, expect a very and irrelevant signature to be appended. Furthermore, expect considerably more nouns to be capitalised than in other people’s messages. It is quite usual for DSH to appeal to the authority of “real medieval historians” (see glossary) over the authority of newsgroup subscribers who disagree with him. Further discussion generally degenerates into sophistry about what has been stated, ex-cathedra statements about who is or is not a “real medieval historian”, personal insults and similar insubstantial commentary.
