What changes were made to the SWaM Certification Program?
There are several changes made to the SWaM Certification Program, effective July 9, 2007. First, applicants will receive their SWaM Certification approval as a Small, Women- or Minority-owned Business upon receipt of their printed and signed SWaM application. Secondly, proof of identification of the Small, Women- or Minority-owned Business owner(s) is required and must be submitted with the printed, signed SWaM application. The following documents will be required within 30 days of submitting a SWaM application to DMBE: -For Small Businesses certification: Proof of number of employees or gross receipts. -For Women- or Minority-owned Business certification: Proof of ownership/capital contribution/investment and organizational documents. -For Small, Women- or Minority-owned Business certification: Proof of number of employees or gross receipts; and proof of ownership/capital contribution/investment and organizational documents. -For Non-Virginia Businesses: License to transact business i
