What changes have been made to Ancient History-Based Writing Lessons, Third Edition?
This answer comes from the author, Lori Verstegen: The revised Ancient History-Based Lessons now include a complete separate Teacher’s Manual with lesson instructions, sample outline and brainstorming whiteboards, grammar exercises, review games, and vocabulary quizzes with answer keys. The new Student Book is the old version with the following additions or changes: • Vocabulary cards were added • History Notes were added for each of the ancient civilizations covered. These notes help students understand where each civilization fits time-wise • Lesson 1: The model poem was simplified. • Lesson 3 and 4: Source texts were modified slightly. • Lessons 7 & 8 were combined into Lesson 7. • The old Lesson 9 is now Lesson 8; The old Lesson 10 is now Lesson 9. • A new lesson, Lesson 10, was added. This lesson covers the fall of Babylon (the story of “the handwriting on the wall” from Daniel 5). In addition, final checklists were put into a format that is easier for students to follow.
