What changes are being made to dealer plates?

0

A. Current yellow Dealer and Service Plates are being phased out between now and February 1, 2007. They will be replaced with two distinct plates. A new Dealer Plate with red lettering on a white background is available ONLY to registered motor vehicle dealers. Curbsiders will not be able to purchase it! It can be used only on vehicles owned as part of the dealer’s inventory. The new Dealer Plate may be used for private use of motor vehicles owned as part of the dealer’s inventory. The existing yellow plate will continue to be used as a Service Plate on unplated vehicles not owned by the dealer. It can be used by anyone (including a dealer) who repairs, transports, customizes or modifies motor vehicles and trailers.
