I ama former chef from Canada and have many chef friend in the UK, my one friend in Liverpool has 2 induction hobs that work on a magnetic field, he uses stainless steel ones, and most are made of cast stainless or a nickel plated SS, they are find for your hob, the only thing about ceramic or glass top hobs is you cannot shake or scrape the pan/pots on top of them it can scratch them.
