What causes Unintended Acceleration?
The final report of the National Highway, Transportation, and Safety Administration concluded that unintended acceleration could not be caused by any mechanical failure of the vehicle in question and at the same time be consistent with the physical evidence. The NHTSA report goes on to conclude that `pedal misapplication’ by the vehicle operator is probably the cause.
