What causes Toyota solara sunroof to make horrible noise when opening/closing?

When ambient temperature is above 80’s the sunroof makes a loud binding noise, when is cool outside the sunroof is smooth. A: I’m guessing that something in the track for the sunroof is swelling when it gets hot and needs to be lubricated. Lubrication of the parts may take care of it. Maybe check your owners manual and see if the maintenance section mentions anything about lubricating the track? If not, I hesitate recommending you just spraying a silicon or WD-40 type lubricant in there without having someone look at it that knows something about it. I may be something very simple and inexpensive that spraying it with lubicant could actually hurt.
