What causes the exhaust’s chrome to become yellow?
Usually, all the sporting exhaust tends to present yellow color on the pipe due to the high temperature concentrated near the exit of the motor. The gases produced during the combustion flow out faster than in the original exhaust, causing an increase of temperature in that region. Another factor that may cause it to become yellow is washing the motorcycle incorrectly. When it is hot, the chromed exhaust should never be in contact with the water because the hard change of temperature from the water may damage the chrome. ALWAYS remember that when changing your motorcycle exhaust for an original or sporting model, immediately equalize the mixing of carburetors aiming at optimizing its performance and avoiding the over-heating of the part, yielding the yellow pipe color.
