I do not know what the initial force was to set the earth spinning but we can say that it was an uneven force of some kind. It could have been gravitational in nature or a direct hit by some kind of matter. It is in rotation because there is not anything around to stop its motion. It looks as though there isn’t going to be anything in the near future to stop its rotation.
