What causes the “Cannot read from [CD ROM Drive]. The device is not functioning OR the device is not ready” message?
This could either be a faulty CD, the PC has lost connection with the CD player or the CD player is faulty. Re-boot the PC. Try reading from a non books on screen CD, if the same error occurs the CD drive may be faulty. If it reads another CD OK, then the books on screen CD may be faulty please call the Help Desk for a replacement.
