What causes tapeworms in humans?
Most tapeworms enter humans through raw or undercooked meat infected with tapeworm eggs. Beef and pork are the most common carriers, but raw fish can also carry tapeworms. Contact with untreated sewage or the poop of someone with a tapeworm can also result in tapeworm infection. If you have a tapeworm or you’re in close contact with someone who does, wash your hands after every bathroom visit and before you eat.
