What causes smoke and soot from candles?
Smoke and soot can occur for a variety of reasons. The products used in Pixie Scents candles are top quality and have been proven time and again to emit very little smoke and soot. Soot can be seen as a black ring left around the inside of many glass candleholders. A candle must have the right amount of air, wax and wick in order to burn cleanly. Too much or too little air circulation, poor quality wax, wax over-diluted with fragrance and an improperly sized wick for the candle can all cause sooting.
