What causes roof shingle problems?
Every type of shingle has a different manufacturer specification for installation. Roof shingles deteriorate with weather, age, and installation methods. But, fret not. Tru-Spec will inspect your roofing materials to confirm that they have been properly installed to the manufacturer’s specifications. Often, one area of the roof will show deterioration or that shingles have aged prematurely, while another area of the roof is fine. Erratic shingle conditions may be due to improper attic venting. To help problem-solve, Tru-Spec® will inspect the interior of the attic, which is part of our roofing inspection. If the wood that the shingles are fastened to is partially moisture-rotted or if the attic is improperly vented, mold and mildew-like staining will be present. A visual inspection of the attic will confirm if there is a reason to only replace the shingles or proceed in another direction.
