What Causes Rapid Weight Gain?
Contrary to popular belief, lack of exercise and overeating are not the only culprits that can contribute to rapid weight gain. Other significant causes include under active or low thyroid, menopause, type of drugs and medications that you are taking, cushing syndrome, imbalance in your blood sugar.
Packing on a few extra pounds is not uncommon. A lack of exercise and a poor diet will cause anyone to put on some weight. But, generally weight gain is fairly slow, taking place over a period of months and years, as opposed to days and weeks. If you find yourself gaining weight at an alarming rate, the problem could be deeper than what you are putting in your body or what you are doing to try to work it off.
