What causes puffy eyes in the morning?
A cream you are applying to your face could be to blame. Sometimes it is simply because you are applying too much so always use eye cream sparingly, and make sure heavier creams designed for other areas of the face do not go near the delicate eye area. Alternatively, the puffiness could be due to allergy, which could be to something you are using on your face at night, either cream or, or soap, or a cleanser. Residues from detergents in your pillowcases could also be to blame, so wash them using a non-biological product, and avoid using perfumed fabric conditioner. A more general allergic reaction could also be to blame. Occasionally puffy eyes are a sign of water retention, and rarely, may indicate a more serious underlying problem,, such as kidney disease. In pregnancy, it can be a sign of the oedema associated with the disease pre-eclampsia. So if the puffiness persists,, do see your GP.
