What Causes People to Start Biting Their Fingernails?

0

Some studies have shown nervousness, stress, and boredom to cause people to start biting their nails. In many instances people are totally unaware that they are actually doing it. So for some people it can be an unconscious drive to bite their nails. Emotional issues can also trigger it especially in teenagers as they make up 45% of fingernail biters. 30% are children 7-10 years of age, and the remaining 20% are adults. It’s also interesting to note that males are more prone to biting their fingernails than females and the more intelligent the person the more prone they are too.
