What causes people to bully others?

0

Insecurity and the need to feel bigger than the person they are bullying. Fighting doesn’t do anything to help because it doesn’t deal with what causes the problem. A bully can always team up with more bullies, and who wants to go to school anticipating or fearing a violent confrontation with a bully? Just tell an adult. Don’t worry about being a “snitch” or a “rat”, all this is in the best interests of you and the person who is bullying you. Every student has the right to a safe and non-threatening learning environment. A bully often has deep-seated issues that you may not be able to deal with yourself (i.e. troubled family life, insecurity, abuse of any kind, etc.) so it’s best to let the adults help, Fighting back excessively (by violence or by verbal cussing) just turns you into a bully as well.
