What causes patellar tendonitis?
Patellar Tendonitis typically occurs due to repetitive movements or overuse and is common among athletes or individuals participating in jumping sports or activities such as volleyball, soccer, basketball, and running. This injury may also be caused by an acute trauma of some sort, however acute trauma to the patellar tendon is less likely to be the cause of pain. Individuals suffering from recurring patellar tendon injuries may in fact have Patellar Tendinopathy, Patellar Tendinosis, or an injury attributing to the degeneration of the patellar tendon.
