What causes odors coming from the plant?
The most critical point where odors emanate is where wastewater enters the plant. For this reason we inject masking agents with pleasant odors at this point in the treatment process. Another potential source of odors is where the sludge, or solid byproduct of the wastewater treatment process, is thickened. The plant receives very few odor complaints. But the few it does are in the evenings of hot summer days when the heat magnifies odors and still air fails to dilute or disperse them.
