What Causes Non-Allergic Rhinitis?
Non-allergic rhinitis is related to irritated and/or sensitive nerve fibres in the nose. This causes an inflammatory reaction and vessels in the nose become further irritated and congested.1,3 Many different things can trigger this nasal swelling, including perfumes and odours, temperature changes, some food and drink, medications, hormone changes, cigarette smoke and stress.1 Different people have different non-allergic rhinitis triggers.
