Your dishwasher dispenser might not be opening during the cycle, check to see if the dispensers doors are opening properly, if they are not you might have a lime buildup up in your dishwasher that is causing them to malfunction this way, you should treat your dishwasher at least once a week with a cup of undiluted White Vinegar and put it through a full cycle and allow to air dry no heated drying. Or this could be that your water is not hot enough or you are using a dishwasher detergent that has baking soda as a ingredient these kind I have found do not dissolve properly in the dishwasher and have since stopped using this kind and have found better results, you may also want to stop using those liquid detergents in your dishwasher and switch to the powdered detergents instead your results may improve.
