What causes medicines to get destroyed in the rain forest?

I’m not sure what you mean here, does medication become ineffective in the rainforest? I think what you are alluding to is the fact that all of our medicines are derived from plant compounds, mostly from plants that have been used as medicinal for generations. With the destruction of the rainforest we are making thousands of species of plants extinct every year. Unfortunately, many of these species of plants may have held medicinal proerties that we have yet to discover and now never will. For all we know these plants that have become extinct may have held the secrets for curing cancer, AIDS or any number of other diseases.
