What causes facial veins?
Facial veins (Spider veins) are formed by an increase in blood pressure. The body releases the pressure by forcing blood into veins on the surface of the skin. In the skin condition known as rosacea the cheeks and nose flush easily and over time turn permanently red. This condition is also associated with pimples and spots in addition to facial veins. While spider veins and flushed skin do not normally indicate a major medical problem, most sufferers are keen to get rid of them with a facial vein removal procedure. Spider veins have an unsightly appearance that can affect the confidence of sufferers, but can also cause a great deal of physical pain in some cases.
