What Causes Esophagus Cancer?
Cancer of the esophagus is a malignancy that develops in the muscular tube that carries food from the throat to the stomach. According to the National Cancer Institute there will be more than 16,000 new cases of esophageal cancer diagnosed this year in the U.S. and more than 14,000 people will die from the disease. Although smoking is often linked to cancer of the esophagus, it’s only one of many possible causes.
