Common causes for lameness in the hind legs include the following: -Trauma, such as fractures or luxations -Congenital or inherited conditions, including hip dysplasia , patellar luxation , or forelimb deformity -Conditions such as Osteochondrosis , Osteodystrophy , or Polymyositis -Infectious diseases such as septic arthritis , bacterial infections, or fungal infections -Tumors in the bones, nerves, cartilage, muscles, or tissues Parasites such as borreliosis or spotted fever -Endocrine disorders, especially hyperparathyroidism -Metabolic conditions including vitamin deficiency or rickets -Rheumatoid arthritis Call your veterinarian to arrange an appointment and a proper diagnoses. If you believe your dog has trauma or a fracture, make sure he remains immobile to prevent any more damage.
