What causes digestive disorders in dogs?
There are many factors that can contribute to digestive difficulty in dogs, including food allergies; eating too quickly or eating spoiled food; ingesting poisonous frogs, toads or lizards; parasites; esophageal or intestinal obstruction; virus and/or infection; underlying disease; stomach ulcers and even neurological disorders. For veterinarians, the first step in diagnosing digestive disorders in dogs is to prepare a very thorough health history of the dog. This is often followed by a physical exam and an intestinal parasite test.
