Malassezia Ovalis is a micro-organism of the yeast family which represents around 45% of the micro-flora activity in a healthy scalp. In some people, this yeast proliferates and causes an immune reaction in the scalp. Skin flaking on the scalp accelerates causing the appearance of dandruff.
