What Causes Dandruff in Kids?
Dandruff is a common skin condition that affects the scalp. It happens when the body gets rid of dead skin cells, often creating little flakes of skin. It tends to affect children as they reach puberty. Although it can be embarrassing, dandruff is not serious or contagious. The condition usually does not require a doctor’s diagnosis, but a physical exam may be needed if the scalp is irritated. Mild cases are usually controlled with over-the-counter remedies, but more serious dandruff may need medicated shampoos.
