what causes blood blisters?
The formation of a blister is in itself a protective mechanism of the body. A blister forms on the surface of the skin when there is any kind of injury due to pressure or heat. This is the reason why blisters usually form on the superficial surface of the skin. Usually, the trauma inflicted is superficial enough to not damage any blood vessels. However, if a blood vessel gets ruptured or damaged, then it leads to pooling of blood and formation of blood blisters. Sometimes, there may be other causes of blood blisters, like burning or scalding of skin, due to an allergic reaction, irritation, and skin infections. Areas that are richly supplied by blood are more prone to develop blood blisters; which is the reason why blood blisters in mouth and blood blister on lip is relatively more common than a blood blister elsewhere. However, the development of a blood blister on foot is commonly seen in people who wear ill-fitting shoes or who stand or walk for a long time. Treatment for Blood Blis
