What causes an air conditioner to freeze?

0

Air handlers on an air conditioner will freeze if there are low levels of refrigerant (freon) in the system, which can be caused by a slow (or not so slow) leak. A dirty air filter can also cause frequent freezes, so make sure you switch yours out every three months. Make sure you check your system at the beginning of each season so you’re not caught sweating this summer!
