What causes a vent-free appliance to start putting off an odor?

0

Most times it is caused by room fragrances (perfume, hair spray, cleaning fluids, waxes and etc.). The appliance must have room air for combustion and is therefore pulling air through it all the time it is burning. As these scents are burned they cause many different smells and cause the homeowner to believe that something is wrong with the appliance when in reality, it’s simply burning the scents in the house.
