What causes a DeMarini Doublewall bat to dent?
As noted above, cold softballs are extremely hard, which can lead to ball impact denting. We’ve also learned that some balls are compressed more than others during manufacturing, which also has an effect on bat denting. At DeMarini, we test all of our bats with balls that have a 47-core / 525 lb. compression rating. To combat the issue of durability, we’ve introduced FLI to many of our Doublewall bats, making them far more durable that conventional aluminum models.
