Tycho really didn’t have a choice when it came to the heliocentric theory, which was the sun centered theory. Abandoning that theory would have meant totally disregarding the Aristotelian physics, which was the only known physics known at that time, it would have totally undermined physics as the world knew it at that time. So, he made the best of both worlds. Even though he didn’t agree with Copernicus, his heliocentric planetary arrangement was more hospitable than anyone else’s to date, even though Tycho disagreed with Copernicus on several issues. Tycho’s did not accept Copernicus idea which was predicated on an absolute motion of place. So he kept the earth in the center of the universe in which the sun and moon revolved around the earth.
