What caused the cancer in the review that was conducted?
Many of the cancers reviewed have several causes, such as genetic (family history of cancer), lifestyle (such as diet, exercise, tobacco, alcohol use, etc.), and other environmental exposures. No information exists that establishes a cause and effect relationship between these cancers and the chemicals found along Cypress Creek. Therefore, it cannot be said that the chemicals found in soils along Cypress Creek have or have not caused the cancers found in residents living near the creek.
