What caused a lockdown at Princeton University?
Princeton University issued an all clear Wednesday, after students were alerted of a possible gunman on campus. The gun scare sparked a brief lockdown of the university. University officials sent a message out to students after receiving a report of a “male with a suspected handgun” near Dod Hall dormitory around 11 a.m. Students and staff were advised by officials to stay in their buildings. The campus lockdown, which lasted for a half an hour, was called off after security personnel found four juveniles with a toy gun. Princeton Borough Police took the four teens into custody. According to authorities, the juveniles did not realize they were causing an alarm. Emily Aronson, a spokeswoman for the university said officials took all extra precaution when dealing with the incident. The University has since issued a statement on its website, saying the incident was prompted by mere confusion. Sources:
