SOUTH ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI – FOX2now.com) – A deadly car crash woke up residents at a near downtown apartment complex Monday morning. The car crashed through an apartment at Tucker and Park, leaving at least one person dead. The accident happened just after 3:00AM just south of Scottrade Center near the old City Hospital. The driver of the vehicle somehow lost control and went crashing through a three-story apartment building. It ended up on its side inside of a first floor apartment. There is extensive damage to the apartment building. Five families were evacuated because of significant cracks to the brick exterior and the possibility of utility problems inside. No one was injured inside the complex. Building inspectors, Laclede Gas and Ameren are all on the scene looking over the damage.
