Institutions will be able to apply for recognition for: • 1+3 programmes: These will be one or more Master’s courses providing the research training detailed in the new Guidelines and linked to PhD training programmes. NB: recognition applications for advanced courses must be linked to an application for a research outlet(s). Applications for advanced courses not linked to a PhD programme are ineligible for ESRC recognition. • +3 programmes: These will be PhD programmes designed for those who have already completed their research training. • Part-time recognition: Recognition for both 1+3 and +3 programmes will be available on a part-time as well as full-time basis. • Distance learning: Recognition for both 1+3 and +3 programmes will be available on a distance learning basis as well as a full and part-time basis. • CASE recognition: Any outlet seeking recognition for a 1+3 or a +3 programme can also apply for CASE recognition. • Professional doctorates: ESRC recognition is available fo
