What careers are possible with a degree in Educational Psychology/M.Ed for students with a psychology background and students who have a B.Ed in education?
Ans: Most of the students who enter our M.Ed. have an education background (B.Ed.) however about 25% have a psychology or other related degree. Most of our graduates with a B.Ed./M.Ed. work in the school system as resource teachers, special education or educational consultants. Graduates with a B.A./M.Ed. have a more varied career path. Some work in or create special tutorial programs or family/child programs for students with difficulties. Some work in specialized settings (e.g., hospital programs) with children/youth with difficulties. Both B.Ed./M.Ed. and B.A./M.Ed. students are able to do educational (reading, math, spelling, curriculum based) assessment and provide educational assessments. NONE of our M.Ed. graduates in any of our streams are qualified to provide therapeutic counseling, or become a psychologist.
