For every hour of flight, an airplane needs four hours of maintenance so, there are many opportunities in the field of aviation technology. The best opportunities are available for those who have completed an accredited program in aviation technology and earned a FAA and/or FCC certification. After the September 11th events, the aviation industry cut back on flights and crew, but over the last couple years aviation traffic has, again, increased and employment in the industry is expected to do the same. Job opportunities are expected to be the best at small commuter and regional airlines, at FAA repair stations, and in general aviation.
