What career and job opportunities are available after postgraduate study?
The success rate of graduates from our Department is excellent, with most finding permanent course-related employment within six months of completing their degree. Many of the MRes students (and some of the MSc students) progress to a PhD. You can find out more by reading the careers section within each MSc/MRes course page. You can also read the student/graduate recommendations within each MSc/MRes course page, to discover the type of jobs obtained as a result of their postgraduate degree. Finally, please visit the Career Opportunities web page which includes videos of talks which show that, in spite of the recent global economic downturn, Environmental Engineering, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Hydrogeology and Geotechnics are among the sectors predicting an increase in job opportunities.
