PanLex can help connect expressions with meanings, and connect expressions across languages, for diverse multilingual activities. More specifically, PanLex can support translation, multilingual document generation, cross-language information retrieval, user-interface localization, cross-language lexical standardization, the design of interoperable controlled languages, and other multilingual activities. While serving these purposes, PanLex also supports pure and applied research.
