What can my lawyer do to help me get started in Parent and Child Reconciliation Counselling?
There are two steps in the initial process that involve the lawyers. The first is bringing information about Parent and Child Reconciliation Counselling to the Settlement Conference or to Court. If this service seems appropriate, the parents will either agree on participating as part of the Settlement Conference, or sometimes a judge will order it. Once there are Minutes of Settlement or a Court Order for services such as Parent and Child Reconciliation Counselling, it is your lawyer’s responsibility to initiate the referral to Niagara Child and Youth Services.
