Personally, I wouldn’t think that Model Magic would be the best choice for what you want. It won’t do details very well and it doesn’t get really hard. Other types of air-dry clay would be more suitable. You could buy Creative Paperclay or Makins or Hearty air-dry clays, for example, or you could make your own air-dry clay (“bread clay” and “salt dough” clay would probably be the closest to what you want in smoothness, hardness, etc…. you can find recipes for those by googling their names.) Polymer clays are probably the best though for the kinds of things you’d like to make, and many people do use them already for making simple figures and even more realistic ones. Polymer clays can be purchased at craft and hobby stores, and at some art supply stores… the brand names you’re likely to see (in order of their strength after baking when they’re thin) are: Premo…. and Kato Polyclay SuperSculpey Firm (gray..boxes or pouches) FimoClassic FimoSoft Sculpey III …and SuperSculpey (flesh
