Put a gas mask on, and gloves! Then confort the poor animal, watch his eyes. The home made remedy is to use a hydrogen Peroxide and Baking soda mixture on his fur, smear it all over and rub it in. Let it sit 15 minutes then give him a bath. Careful, warm water will reactivate some odor. Now for the stuff that works on a million odors, but works very well on skunk. Try SCOE 10X Here is how it works: SCOE 10X is unlike and very different from all the other so-called odor eliminators. SCOE 10X is a beneficial probiotic odor eliminator. What this means is, SCOE 10X simultaneously performs the three separate odor eliminating functions that are needed to permanently eliminate the three components of biological odor : • First function: SCOE 10X immediately captures and destroys odor molecules. • Second function: SCOE 10X

I haven’t lived in an area where there were skunks for many years, but when I did, I had a dog that had more than one encounter with the pesky creatures. We were told to douse him in tomato juice. It worked like a charm. Now, I’ve found a website that gives you step-by-step directions as to how to do this. I’ve supplied the link below. By the way, you have my heartfelt condolences. I well remember the messy problem it was, and I’m glad my present dogs have not presented me with this it. But I know from personal experience that tomato juice does work. Good luck! It says on the back of the bottle that it gets rid of skunk smell. I have never used it for that purpose, but it does have an industrial strength deodorant in it. It’s pretty good stuff and it should work. Good luck!!
