BURNING PERMITS The Linn County Department Of Public Health issues open burning permits. The permits are $5.00 for 30 days or $15.00 for 60 days. To obtain a permit by phone call 892-6000. You must provide some information, including your address, what materials you will be burning, and who will be the responsible person. Permits can easily be renewed by calling Public Health at (319) 892-6000, or you may renew on the internet at http://www.air.linn.ia.us/ – click on the *Open Burning* button. Be sure to call in a few days before your burn project. Public Health mails the permit to the local fire department for a signature and then the fire department mails the permit to you.
