What can i make with barley seeds or what can i do with them?
I am a former chef and make soups, risottos and salads with them, you can cooked them just like rice and use it the same way even as a breakfast cereal like oatmeal, barley flakes are very good, and are the main ingredient in Post GrapeNuts. For risottos like rice you add it to the sauteed onions and work in the stock under cooked and finish it the same way, for soup you add it in beginning to cook and slightly thicken the soup, for salads you cook it again like rice with water and seasonings or broth until dry and fluffy cool and then add veg and dressings for a nice alternative ti rice and potato’s. I like to use pearl barley for soups and the pot barley for risottos and salads it is larger and has a nuttier flavour.
