What can i give my 4 month old baby with a cold?
You are doing everything right. There really isn’t any meds that you can give your baby other than baby tylenol and saline drops. Try to keep her head elevated even in bed. They do sell these wedge things that connect to the cribs mattress or you can put a towel or pillow under the matress. Make sure it is under the matress becasue you do not want to cause any SIDS factors. If you are breastfeeding you can use them as nose drops instead of saline drops. Breast milk works a lot better then the saline drops. I hope your daughter feels better soon. Before giving your baby water talk to your pediatrician about this one because babies under a year old does not need water as long as they are drinking their formula or breast milk then they are fine. If it is a croup caugh which will sound like a seal bark the steam shower will not work that well. Usually with croup it is worse when it is hot and if it is cold then the symptoms subside some but not all the way. If she has croup depending on ho
My 7 week old had the same exact symptoms for almost two weeks (4-6 weeks) Dr gave me the same advice, except one thing I had never heard. She said just to use the saline drops and not the suction bulb unless I could see the mucous. She said repetitive suctioning could make it worse. So I stopped using it as directed. I used a humidifier at night (with the Vick’s pad) and used the teamed up bathroom in the morning and night. Propped him up and let him sleep in his bouncy chair (I know bad bad practice) But it cleared out, I know it is tough I hated hearing him all congested….hang in there it will pass and his immunity will be stronger for it.
